IDEA Session Proposal Form 2010

IDEA Session Proposal Form 2010

In 2006 the Institute for Contemporary Leadership (ICL) conference adopted its official name change to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) workshop. WACAC and the Diversity, Equity, and Access (DEA) committee share in the vision of working closely together with NACAC to provide resources and guidance to our membership as we continue our work in serving students from varying ethnic, social, cultural, economic, physical/mental ability, and religious backgrounds, IDEA serves the membership as a multi-cultural professional network. Participants exchange ideas, questions, best practices, and solutions through thought provoking cross-cultural dialogues.

Guided by seasoned veterans, the workshop explores topics such as cross-cultural awareness, communication, and counseling that will both renew you in the work you already do, but bring a sense of freshness and innovation that IDEA has long been known for.

All innovative high school guidance personnel, energetic enrollment management, admission, outreach and recruitment staffs are welcome to attend this exciting institute where dialogue, collaboration, and cross-cultural awareness abound. Come join in the conversation, bring your best practices, questions and an overall willingness to learn from one another.

Examples of Sample Session Topics:

• Working with GLBTQ students
• Latinos in higher education
• The Impact of the California Budget on the CSU, UC, CCC and the Black Male
• Working with Undocumented Students
• Writing the DEA Grant

And many more!

We’re looking forward to seeing you at IDEA!

Please contact Keion Morgan, DEA Co-Chair/ IDEA Conference Chair if you have any questions.
